"I'm grateful for the investment that the HBCSF made so that I could attain my baccalaureate degree. I was fortunate to receive two $4000 scholarships. Like many Latino students, I come from a working class family, and my parents did not have the financial means to pay for college. I did not want financial hardship to deter me from attaining my dreams, and receiving the scholarships certainly helped me. I am now working for Unilever, and I kept a promise I made to the organization and I am now an advisory council member to the HBCSFNJ. The accomplishments of many of its recipients exemplify the possibilities unleashed for Latinos through higher education and personify its mission."

"HBCSF gave me the opportunity in 2002 to pursue a career in Finance/Accounting. I truly appreciate HBCSF for trusting and believing in my potential for becoming a successful businesswoman. Their scholarship did not only serve as a financial assistance but as a true motivation for making a difference in my community. With HBCSF, my family support and my constant dedication, I graduated in 2006 as Summa Cum Laude from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. I encourage you (students) to have goals in mind and let organizations such as HBCSF give you the opportunity to 'reach higher' in your educational aspirations."

"I am very grateful for the support I received as an undergrad from the Hispanic Business Council Scholarship Foundation. There is more to the foundation than just giving out scholarships. It is a community of people who care. They care about the overall welfare and success of young Hispanics furthering their education. I have been fortunate enough to be a recipient of two scholarships that practically saved my opportunity to stay in school. At that stage of my life, I was putting myself through college. I was having difficulty keeping up with tuition. Thankfully, an adviser from school made me aware of the scholarship. I knew that if I could somehow attain it, it would make a tremendous difference in my life and enable me to continue pursuing my dream of becoming a teacher. I am currently in my second year as a 6th grade English teacher in Jersey City, New Jersey. Thank you!"

"As I prepared in the Spring of 1997 to embark on a journey toward higher education, one question preoccupied me the most: How was I going to pay for college tuition and expenses? I am a first generation immigrant from the Dominican Republic and come from a family of little financial means. Fortunately, the HBCSF helped ease my financial burden with a $1,000 scholarship. After college, I attended Rutgers Law School-Newark. The HBCSF once again contributed toward my education with two book stipends of $500 each. Today, I am an attorney at Dechert LLP, one of the top law firms in the country. I will forever be grateful to the HBCSF for believing in me and helping me realize my dream."

"I am very pleased that the HBCSF chose me as a young Latina woman to help pursue my goals. This scholarship helped me greatly through my college career. The HBCSF placed great trust in me and encouraged me to continue on with my dreams. My parents struggled to put me through college but with financial assistance it made the burden a lot easier. Thanks to their support I am now looking to be a full-time Spanish teacher. Students should definitely take advantage of this great opportunity because it will take them where they want to go both academically and professionally. It will also help them accomplish their future endeavors."
